Each type of animal has one prevailing personality; humans can mimic any animal!
A multiple personality is in a certain sense normal.
-George Herbert Mead
Animal “gene sets” moved from animals to humans during evolution which is probably why certain humans are much like certain animals. Some of us appear to have “genes of the predator, dominant type”, whilst others harbour “genes of peaceful plant eaters”. Perhaps some humans are destined to be the leaders well before they exit their childhood because of their genes? The “dominant genes” are either reinforced or weakened by their upbringing.
Well known “Carnegie stages” of embryo development seem to align with above musings. As human develops, it starts looking like an embryo of a lizard.. embryo of a bird.. embryo of a pig.. then the tail falls off.. the hand becomes bigger.. the stages of animal evolution appear to be replicated during human embryonic development.
Have you ever thought “why, this man looks exactly like a mole!?” and have later been startled to find out that the latter man has worked night shifts all his life.. or may be you’ve seen a lady with a “kind, horse-like face”. There could be a couple of reasons why some humans resemble certain animals. Firstly, the combinations of “animal genes” have been passed down in the course of evolution, as described above. Secondly, if we behave mostly like one animal, we start looking like one. Such as, if a person smiles most of the time, her face will look happy and open.. if another human being is constantly downhearted and angry, this will become imprinted on his face.
If each of one is, predominantly, “one type of animal”, then wouldn’t it take a great number of people to present some sort of uniform behaviour? Harry seems to think so:
The human animal cannot be trusted for anything good except en masse. The combined thought and action of the whole people of any race, creed or nationality, will always point in the right direction.
-Harry S Truman
