The question of a soulmate

You are probably aware of a popular notion that there is just one, only one person in the whole world (a few billion people…) who is perfect for you, and you could never be quite as happy with anyone else, so you better hope to find him (or her)…Could this really be so? Are we supposed to look for a needle in a haystack, so to speak?

Human feels content and happy in a loving relationship, so whoever had “designed” a human- be it a deity or nature- would have wanted to make it easy, and not extremely difficult, for a human to find such a relationship.

Why is true love rare? Because it implies reaching a state of harmony between lovers’ spiritual, emotional, and physical natures, and this is not easy to achieve. All of us are capable of such love, but many- give up trying.

Accidentally, if you have attained deep spiritual, emotional and physical union with your lover, you might well feel that he is “the one, and the only one”. But this is probably because a human being simply cannot handle more than one relationship of such an intensity in one lifetime, and not because such a love could not have been attained with some one else. If you consider a variety of prospective lovers, the nature of your dance will be different with each of them, and some moves could be much more grueling than others… but you will surely get there – just as long as you persist.

“We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love”.
