Dear Friend,
I will share with you a page from my new book (the one I am currently writing), it is entitled ” This is who you are”, and its subject is humanity’s main problems (mental illness, broken families, the wars and damaged ecosystems).
“…Morals: standards of behaviour; principles of right and wrong.
-Oxford dictionary
The morals are relative- an event/behaviour could be interpreted as either positive or negative , depending on person’s moral compass. And there are other dimensions to morals’ relativity- person’s moral complex might change during his life; plus, more often than not, he has disparate sets of morals for different people in his life.
Turning a blind eye to the relativity of morals makes for turbulence in a relationship.
There will be an illustration from the early days of Jessie’ and Eddie’ marriage in a minute, but first- does it have to be your other half? Is it not possible to harness your nature in relation to any human being’ nature? Say, a next door neighbour? We’ll discuss this shortly.
Eddie’s colleague been stealthily overtaking some of his projects, hoping for promotion. This must have upset Eddie quite a bit, for, despite being a very private person, he had confided in Jessie as soon as two year old Jamie was finally asleep. Or my God, you poor darling!- she throws her arms around him. You must feel awful- what a nasty person, that colleague… Don’t worry- I will help! How about- we contact Human Resources? Should I write them a letter..?
Ed’s face- awash with anger, drop of disgust thrown in; he pulls away from her arms, and her incredulous gasp… I’m only trying to help..! Jess is in the dark about what Eddie is thinking, but us- we’ll glance inside his mind:
Me- feeling awful?? What does she think I am- pathetic little weakling?!? And good old Tim, he aint nasty; just looking out for himself, the wife is pregnant with the twins…what else she said… I can not even write my own letter (!).. keep dishing out the insults, why don’t you! Ohhhh… when will I learn….. don’t ever- NEVER!! trust a woman.
Jessie acted the way she did because if the situation was reversed, she’d want Eddie to comfort her the way she was trying to comfort him. But his ways are so different from hers! And so are their moral compasses…”
